​First signs of trouble

Many air conditioners can develop small issues that are easily ignorable, but can cost you a lot of money later if not fixed promptly.

Signs of a AC Unit in need of repair include:

• Unit does not turn on automatically when thermostat has been set less  

  than the current room temperature.

• AC unit turns on and off repeatedly and/or randomly

• A low coolant warning is displayed

• Ice and/or water in or near the unit

• Large amounts of noise or rattling

Usually the first sign experienced is easy to notice, it’s too hot! This can be caused by a blockage or mechanical problem. If an AC unit turns on and off randomly there may be a problem with electrical circuits, you’ll want to contact us immediately because the fuses and circuit breakers may need to be replaced to avoid further permanent damage.

The AC units may also display a low coolant warning. This could be a result of Freon leakage from the system. The first step when this happens is to check the inside and outside parts of the unit. You’ll be looking for puddles of refrigerant anywhere near or in the unit.  The formation of ice and leakage of water are also indications of a Freon leak.
